fuck wordpress, fuck blogs, fuck “fuckin'”

shit, i’ve been on here for like an hour trying to make my blog look a little more visually appealing but it’s fucking hopeless. i bashed my head against the wall on my own for a while trying to make it work with no luck, then looked online for help from other narcissists, only to find that each ‘theme’ or look available on wordpress has its own annoying way of doing things, and there certain things for each theme that you can and can’t do. so it looks like i can’t change the name of the ‘home’ link to anything other than ‘Home’ with this fucking theme i’m using — i’m tied to that fucking uppercase H for life now. i also can’t add the archive to the header so i have to add an annoying side bar just for that, which crowds the area of the blog itself. shit!!! so i looked at a few other themes, and they all suck.

thanks, wordpress. i guess i get what i pay for.

in other news, bill recommended i check out some videos by the ‘angry video game nerd’ on youtube. i watched his review of castlevania 2 for NES because that’s a game i always wanted to like but never could. i just found it too confusing and annoying. looks like my 16-yr old self was right, it’s just as bad as i thought. the AVGN points out all the things about that game that made it so un-fun for me to play way back then, and i appreciate that.

but what i don’t like about the AVGN’s review is that in the subtitles/closed captioning, every time he says “fucking,” it’s written as fuckin’. i have always felt that writing fuckin’ is the lamest, geekiest, most try-hard attempt at being a tough guy. being a tough guy in writing, i feel like that’s some kind of oxymoron. people who do it are saying “yo, i’ve got such a bad ‘devil may care’ attitude that i don’t even enunciate badass words clearly when i write them down.” it’s pathetic.

but i guess some people probably think i’m pathetic for giving up on proper grammar in online mediums. whatever, my badass devil may care attitude prevents me from worrying about that.
