people I see: artsy geek on the street

Duncan, August, 2023 AD. I’m driving down Government hill toward downtown Duncan. Walking on the sidewalk, heading toward me: white male, approximately 30 years old, big guy, like 6’3″ or so, overweight. Long hair pulled back into a pony tail. Wearing a fuzzy beret so you know he’s an ‘artist.’ He has a hiking pole or something, I can’t make out exactly what it is because he’s holding it out in front of himself and twirling it like a cheerleader might twirl a baton. Or like the propeller on the front of a small airplane. He is looking ahead coolly, chin high, like he is confident and proud of his pony tail, beret, and stick twirling.
